Sophie, aka DJ Soph, is the founder of Ecstatic Dance Montpellier, Ecstatic Cévennes, and Ecstatic Dance Ocytocine (outdoor, headphone-based Ecstatic Dances).
She also co-founded and organized Ecstatic Fest Lez’Arts for three years and is currently the organizer of the Ecstatic Dance Gathering, whose first edition took place in July 2025 and more fully reflects her vision.
A yoga teacher, facilitator, DJ, and conscious dance event organizer, she has been dedicated for many years to growing a vibrant Ecstatic Dance community in Montpellier and the surrounding region.
She is also part of the international Dance Medicine school, dedicated to the transmission of DJing and facilitation in Ecstatic Dance.
DJ Soph builds her sets entirely through improvisation, guided by the present moment and the energetic field of the group. Deeply connected to the dancers, she allows the music to flow through her, creating a space where individual and collective naturally align. Her musical universe is eclectic and sensitive, blending world music, electronic sounds, tribal rhythms, celebratory lifts, and more subtle moments woven with piano, guitars, and unexpected sonic textures.
With a warm, gentle, and enveloping presence, she creates safe and nurturing spaces that invite a return to the body, the heart, and shared dance.
